Dear Pop et al -
Well, Today was payday, finally. I am sending home this Money for Safe Keeping - Maybe more will follow, it all depends on my expenses. I received your $7 dollars this Morning - which I am including in the returned.
I won't need the things mom sent for a while yet - it's fairly warm, and I don't want to much gear at present, but the underwear etc - will do fine if she sends them - although if she wants to include them all in one package that'd be swell too.
I'll probably call home tomorrow nite or Sunday P.M.
When I speak of having a good time in Chicago I don't mean I spend money. The only reason [page break]
I asked for more was that I didn't want to get caught short before payday. I didn't spend over 10 dollars when I was in Chicago recently (2 day train included).
Don't worry, service men rate. And I'm careful where I go, whom I go with and what I do.
School is pretty tough - getting tougher and always busy. If it weren't for the food I'd go crazy. Each day I have four hours of code. That is, listening to all the letters, numbers etc of International Morse until I'm pretty sure my brain will collapse. Pop is better.
Lots of Love
Bud
